Normally I don't post photos here but nnnnnnnnnnnnnggggnnnn sifakas are so adorable
Today Apenheul opened again after being closed for the winter season, so ofcourse we went to catch the first glimpse of the six baby ring-tailed lemurs, three baby gorillas (plus two toddlers, and two females pregnant!), and ofcourse the baby crowned sifaka!
Sadly for me the sifaka baby won't be visible until friday, so I didn't get to see her. Here's a photo of her brother Daholo who is pretty large and handsome (and derpy) already. I spent tons of time watching them and even got to do some quick live drawing for the first time ever. The Alaotra gentle lemurs and blue-eyed lemurs were not visible, but all the free-roaming lemurs (black and white ruffed, red ruffed, ring-tailed, red bellied) were outside for the first time this season and were all prancing around crazily and rubbing their butts against everything they could find. I also managed to get good photos of red-bellied lemurs for the first time ever, so I'm happy!!
I keep repeating this but Apenheul is my favorite zoo EVER. Every time I walk around there I'm all BOY I WISH MY FRIENDS COULD SEE THIS *takes 400 photos and makes LJ posts*
It IS the best place. Seriously. I'll post my photos and drawings from today soon, will link to them in my journal when I do so! For now here are photos I took at the park previously on my flickr:
