Dryohetsyo - "The Fast Star"

The Fast Star is one of Udyuxsu's artificial moons - a massive space station built with post Ancients (TL19-20) technology some 50,000 years ago. When the Triumvirate showed up to annihilate the local Droyne, the shields of the station held, and Dryohetsyo was instrumental in destroying a good deal of the smaller attacking forces, deflecting or destroying incoming kinetic kill masses flung at the planet below.

Although it survived, the damage to both the station and the world below was enough to fling the surviving Droyne into a survive at all costs mentality. Those on the station managed to stabilize life support and rebuild their hydroponics systems, but had lost close to 95% of lives aboard station. Tech level plummeted as too many drones and technicians with vital ancestral memories had died, and all hanger access, aside from the smallest of automated repair drones, had been cut off.

The powerplant continued working, and the customs and culture of the station bound Droyne drifted over the course of over 40,000 years. Systems died around the fringes, but a barebones TL8-9 capability allowed some new construction from salvage to take place, and, eventually, about 500 years ago, a starship hanger was accessed, along with many tech drones with intact databases the Technician caste Droyne could learn from. Contact was established with the still recovering world below, and Fast Star Oytrip became part of the Udyuxsu's hierarchy.

Today the station is still undergoing exploration and reclamation, but slowly. New construction was done to create a more viable 'starport' for visiting ships from all over the Udyuxsu system, as well as a small vessel shipyard, and the Tech Level of Fast Star has climbed back to a shaky 12 - one whole higher than even Earth's present tech level (As of 2201 AD). While most of the ships built here are insystemers, mostly for the belters and outer independent colonies, every few decades a commission comes up from the world below for a Jump 3 vessel to scout or trade with neighboring star-systems - mostly inhabited by other even lower tech Droyne, as well as a balkanized Chirper world.

The current station leader is Edsutsiv a relatively young and brash leader who only took control of the station about two years ago. His primary advisor is the sport Amtweth, captain of the Jump2 scoutship Taylpevkru.
