I so rarely get to do artwork for myself. With illustration being a portion of my job, it usually means that personal projects get put on the backburner to make way for paid gigs and ultimately never get finished.
I would like to sincerely thank
wolfwings for sponsoring my time so I could finish this personal piece of mine. You can see the sketch it started from in my scraps gallery. :)
That said, this was a watercolor experiment with some new paper I bought and some watercolor sample dots I received from Daniel Smith. I bought them months ago and only now just got to play with them. In person, you can see the iridescent pigments that shimmer in the light. The details are done with colored pencil, which took some getting used to because I normally work on smooth bristol. I will say though, this being my first watercolor attempt on high quality watercolor paper, oh my god there is a difference!
Prints will be available soon, I'll make an FA journal when they are, and they'll be through my Storenvy store.

so happy you finished this for yourself! You basicly described the story of my life when it comes to personal art, haha!
Turned out great!
I think you would like arches satin finish! There is barely any grain on the paper and looks nearly as smoothe as bristol, & it wont buckle!

Yeah I remember you mentioning that, I'm definitely going to have to get some. I just wish the paper blocks weren't so expensive! ;___; This one I got on a ridiculous sale. I had a 40% off coupon at Michaels and they happened to have these art blocks. I think that's the only way I could afford it XD
