AAAAAAAAH YES, TAKING MY CHARACTERS AND MAKING THEM DRAGONS. WHAT FUN!
First on the list, Sol who you can see here:
Usually he's Pyrokinetic Elf. I figured that this wasn't actually too much of a shift for him xD
I had a lot of fun designing his actual type of dragon! ^^ I've decided to call it the Spine Backed Mountain Dragon (real creative, I know)
These dragons, obviously, have spines all down their necks, backs and tails as well as several other places (ei: wings, arms, legs, etc...) In the wild, their spikes can span all down their neck, back and tail OR they can have them only on a crest on their head and some other places OR there are rare cases when they're not born with any spines at all! It tends to be fairly random xD (as random as genetics can get)
The spines that go down the back and the tail always stand erect (please no penis jokes) while the ones along the back of the neck, as well as the head if they have them there, lay almost flat. If the dragon is startled or angered, the spines will stand on end to make it appear more frightening.
There is a king, Garuda; The Red King, who has a fleet of dragon riding knights. They actually used selective breeding to sift down to a preferable spine pattern. Three spines on the head, three high on the neck, three mid back, three mid tail and five at the end of the tail. The placement of the spines on the "royal" dragons makes it far easier for the knights to put tack (saddles, bridals, etc...) on the dragons - making them ideal for riding.
Spesific colours were bred into these dragons as well. being as Garuda is the RED king, his knights felt the need to breed only red variants of this dragon.
THIS WAS A BAD IDEA.
Of course, all this takes place in the middle ages when there was far less knowledge of genetics and what happens when COUSINS MATE WITH EACH OTHER.
but luckily, the breeding process does have cases like Sol who was the product of two completely unrelated dragons... His father being a "wild" male and his mother a recently inducted female.
When he hatched, he was the wrong colour and far, FAR too small compared to the rest of the hatchlings. rather than keep him and train him anyways, the knights (who by this point were becoming more and more drunk with their power) disposed of him behind the kings back, claiming he had died.
AND THEN SOL WAS FOUND BY A FEMALE DRAGON NAMED OYSTER AND WAS RAISED BY HER AND HER ABUSIVE MATE AND HAD A SHITTY CHILDHOOD, TEENAGERDOM AND ADULT HOOD.
HE'S NOT A HAPPY COOKIE.
<3
and as always:
TL;DR
SOL AS A DRAGON.
HE'S STILL GRUMPY.
HIS LIFE SUCK.
