Kandy and Mandy - Ref
still working on a P vs Brandy Story thing. it's coming out good!
so i needed to finish up this and design the rest of brandy's Mean Girl Squad; and since I haven't posted much lately figured I'd throw it on here
they're here to be assholes and act superior to everyone else on campus (especially P)

I'm unsure if I'd say that the sneer or, for lack of a better term, skip- level of distraughtness is what I'd call your best expression.
They're both amazing, even if one is seen here.
Sidenote, the small additions on each uniform, Kandy having the bent spoon necklace (Memorabilia?) and the portion at the back, the sharpness of Brandy's fur to specifically build off of that uninviting vibe, and Mandy's contrasting self assured but not demeaning expression and pose.
Even with the slight handicap of uniforms, you convey things about not just the characters personalities, but also possible things to look out for with them. (Kandy having hidden depths, Mandy's maw being unsealed... especially since it's scaled to size with her towering height, etc.) Excellent work.

gosh thanks! i love doing character design, it's fun to try to get ideas and personality through visually, i'm glad to hear i'm doing it well <3 i've got some fun plans with these, and hopefully they work out!

It's somewhat rare for me to drop the compliments I say in my head onto text- but sometimes I just can't help myself.
I look forward to seeing your plans come to fruition, for nonbias reasons of course. Their growth as characters and the magnitude of their actions past, present, and future.
About the spoon however, I did know it was an item! I was just fumbling around to ascribe meaning to it, maybe it was from her mother/a psychic she looked up to, or she uses it to mask her own insecurity about a lack of psychic ability? Language Arts Nerd things... but from what you said- it seems she doesn't need help- one can only wonder what awful things Kandy'll get up to.
