I know how that feels.
I've been turned down due to the following;
1. The aptitude/multiple choice test where it'll give you a situation and 4 actions, and which ones you are most and least likely to do. (Sometimes they repeat themselves or contridict each other, which can be frustrating)
2. Lack of experience and skills (though I have been improving) - and yet how can I prove to them I'm capable if they won't let me?!?
3. Relying too much on the manager for awkward customers (but I kept saying it was my last resort)
4a. My Austism (as most places might not understand it, even though it falls under the Disabilty Act, and therefore I'm allowed to at least be given a chance)
4b. The issues that might come from my autism from past experiences, mostly verbal misunderstandings either trying to be polite and non-racist in descriptions & between myself giving a compliment and the customer thinking I insulted them - which is never true, as I strive on good 1st impressions. (One retail brand in 2022 actually told me to stop applying and going to their open recruitment days as they said no department in their brand, let alone any branch, would ever take me on. My family was so upset with them they boycotted them for 3 months)
5. Thinking I can't work in a fast-paced environment (again, how can I prove that otherwise without them taking me on?)
So I do hear you, Stacey.
Let's just hope it's not the pregnancy putting them off you? (After all, they might you're going to apply and be accepted, only to then have the baby and sign on for maternity leave before you've even started working, let alone finished any training...)
