I'll try not to ramble so much on this year's review of my own art. Note - most of these may not have links, as they're mainly non-furaffinity works, posted offsite, so mostly just talking about my favorite pieces from the year.

Jan - This was a fun piece I did for dragons I have on FlightRising - Solarus and Lunaris, a mated pair of two-headed dragons. I gave them an interesting backstory as sort of fictitious/celestial beings (one carries the sun, the other the moon), and wanted an art piece to go with it. ♥

Feb - A commission for someone on FlightRising. This piece took literally three months to complete. I think it was done closer to March, or start of, but I put it here instead haha

March - For someone on FlightRising. A simpler piece, but I really enjoyed the lighting here.

April - Not sure I posted this one here, but it's currently my banner and bg on most devices, so you can see it on my profile at least. It features one of my FlightRising dragons. One of my proudest works, honestly. ♥

May - Started an account on the site PaperDemon to try my hand at arpg stuff. This is Reya, a pretty tropical dragon I designed just for it. c:

This is the month of art fight too, so I had a few pieces I did this month, but I was weirdly proud of this one instead??

Aug - Month after art fight, I decided to treat myself with a very derpy drawing of, you guessed it, another one of my FlightRising dragons. Dustbunny is a little... dense, but we love her. ♥

Sept - One of my favorite comms via FlightRising, simply because I love the gold accents and overall vibe. The character is gorgeous and was a ton of fun to shade.

Oct - Finally gened up another dragon on FlightRising so I did a piece of her and Toki together. Super cute and definitely a fave.

(We packed up and moved at end of Oct, so anything I had in progress added an extra month or so due to pack/unpack at the new place. oof!)

Nov - Another long-term project, this one took at least a couple months, and was done as a trade for a dragon on FlightRising. Gorgeous dragon, and had a ton of fun!

Dec - From Thanksgiving on, the end of this year has felt like nothing but bad news - two deaths, had two teeth pulled before my birthday, mom caught covid so Christmas and birthday plans were canceled...
Despite all this, there have been some lights in the darkness - lots of people helping out by buying pieces so I could run a mini fund for a friend of mine, and it warmed my heart to the brim. I'm still playing catch up with the queue, but this piece for Memo to her friend Cece was really touching and I went all out on the soft vibes. Really had to push myself to finish this - and about 4 others - in time for Christmas, and my hands are still screaming, but totally worth it!

I have to say, compared to my picks from last year, there's definitely a significant difference in the amount of detailed works I completed this year (and a lot more of my own FlightRising dragons LOL). I see a lot more detail, shading, and works with backgrounds, all things I'm always seeking to improve upon, so I'd say overall this year has been a good one (for art anyway). ♥

(Simplicity last year was mainly was due to the wedding stress. I did a lot more flat / ref-style pieces & less shading/backgrounds.)
