Raven and his horse Pueeni from the Oracle of Ages manga.

I drew this picture because this obscure Legend of Zelda character <b><i>seriously</i></b> needs more love an attention!

His character is great, and the Oracle mangas were both far more intense than I thought they'd be...I mean Link nearly dies more than once in Seasons and the plot around Raven in Ages is quite ominous, that and in Ages Link gets caught and sentenced to be executed!


After Link gets thrown into the past he meets Raven, a knight working under a queen who is being controlled by evil. Unlike the rest of the castle guards, Raven has a clear sense of what it means to be a knight and does not blindly follow the queen. He remains employed by the enemy, secretly working out a plan right under the queen's nose...Including secretly saving those slated to be executed, leading them to a secret village which he helped to establish years ago and now protects.

Raven does all this despite knowing his head would be next if he got caught... And he does not fear the consequences of capture for Raven is a selfless hero, the kind who would willingly give up his life if it meant saving others...

PS we never get an official color scheme for Raven D:
No colored cover art or anything! So I had to make it up...Considering he is Link's ancestor I think it is safe to assume blond, blue eyed, and wears green...Speaking of which I simply <i>ADORE</i> his hood and how it resembles Link's trademark hat <3

Also, Pueeni appears to be solid black in the manga, I did dark gray since black would kill my line art...

I used the manga for reference but this an original composition, as in does not copy a scene from the manga (to me the true meaning of fanart is to create something we were not provided with, to expand upon "official" content...so I avoid recreating official art and such)

Even though this manga is endorsed by Nintendo...Raven is considered "non canon" because he only exists in the manga and is not the game...
but I wish we could see more of him! And so since I cannot see more of him I drew more X3

<b>PS I am not 100% happy with his eyes :/ but the more I changed them the worse they looked</b> >_o I did not capture the manga style very well with his eyes -__-;
