The original was pretty cute, so I didn't stray too far from it, the main problem was that there wasn't enough contrast to make the markings pop and thus the character looked very plain at a glance. I also did a little work on the outfit, but overall I felt this one only needed minor tweaks

OMG!! ZombieD, you've outdone yourself with my OC!! qAq I was about to trade them because I grew bored of the design, but what you've made of it made it come straight back into my main folders!
I absolutely adore what you've done with the markings / patterns. They weren't developped at all in the previous design, constantly covered by a boring coat. But what you've done here?! That's crazy good! You're 100% right: the colors weren't contrasted enough. I can see that now! On top of that, you made them very original, I love these lava-lamp like markings, so hypnotizing ~ I'm also realizing how hard the task might have been, since your only real reference for the body was a pixel chibi of the feral form!
The outfit is also my favourite thing ToT These little pants and socks are wonderful, and really gives a fresh, new look to the design! The asymetry on the cloak makes it so much more interesting than what it was before. The buttons also add a touch of detailling that's very nice to the eyes. Plus you made the outfit compatible with all the floof that you added, and I love it! You also made the hair look so much more natural than the orange trashbag I used to put on their head ahahah

I'm a little sad that I didn't have all these great ideas myself, but so soooo happy that you chose to pick my OC for this redesign! I don't know how to thank you, sincerely? You definitely revived my love for this little orange critter, so your mission is complete ahah <3

I was very inspired by marble tabbies for the markings, I positively adore those cats.
Sometimes it takes a fresh set of eyes to see the possibilities.

I am highly tempted to actually turn a design I have set aside into a Varveleil since he would already fit. He's actually a "redesign" of a lackluster character from a scifi romance that felt like it might just be a Star Wars fanfic with the serial numbers filed off.
That's an impressive amount of work you put into these! I have been poking around periodically just out of curiosity.
