i've always wanted to do these semi-canon challenges from da. here's some info on these characters as i like to think of them in my fanon (nice and capitalized for your reading pleasure ;) ):

Uru[/u] ('diamond') : mother of Mufasa, Scar, and Mshauri, and Ahadi's queen and mate in title only. Scrappy, silver-tongued, suave, she was a rogue till she was found injured by the Guard, and was betrothed to Ahadi by Mohatu in a deal to let her live. A really good mom, considering it all, but wanted no part in politics. Late-in-life lesbian, she/her.

Ahadi[/u] ('promise') : father of Mufasa, Scar, and Mshauri, and Uru's mate in title only. Closeted, traditional, strict, by-the-book; dilly-dallied on finding a mate so Mohatu betrothed Uru to him just to get heirs. Responsible for Scar's adherence to tradition and him also being closeted. Gay, he/him.

Baraka[/u] ('blessing') / "Mheetu" : Nala's younger brother, mate to Chagua, and father of Kopa. Born sickly, is an amputee, and doesn't have a typical mane due to Tsavo genes from his dad (Scar's bravest). Eccentric and brave. Mheetu's a nickname that just stuck! Bisexual, he/him.

Kopa[/u] ('to cheat, swindle, defraud') : Mheetu and Chagua's son, and an enemy to the Pridelands. Conniving and manipulative. Once a beloved cub, he was a placeholder heir but let it all go to his head. He turned on his family when Kiara was named heir and made an attempt on her life which earned him exile. He's got plans brewing to come back...Pansexual, he/they.

Afua[/u] ('good health' (?)) : son of Kula and Laja, and Kopa's right hand. Stern, silent, but soft inside. They've loved Kopa their whole life, which undoubtedly won't end well. Masc nonbinary and unlabelled, they/them.

Jua[/u] ('sun') : Kovu and Kiara's oldest cub and heir. Mellow and a tad awkward. With her twin Mwezi, she would later dismantle the monarchy and become known as The Twins Who Would Not Rule. Butch lesbian, she/her.
