I've you've been following me for a while, you'll know that I've written a short story a few years back titled "Tough Decision" about an elderly fox trying to decide to put his wife with worsening Alzheimer's in a nursing home. This is a re-write of that original story. I wanted to tackle it again utilizing what I know now versus what I knew then, to see if it comes out cleaner and hits harder.
This is an emotional tear-jerker type story. Please let me know what you think!

A nice story. I liked it. Honestly I think this kind of stuff doesn't move me much. :P Death is so imminent (or in this case just mental deterioration so not really death though) that I would rather accept it and avoid being too afraid of it.
That's actually something I haven't read before as I think about it, with this story being about elderly foxes with grey hair described and them being just normal. It's quite fun and unusual in terms of furry stuff. Normally there would be young foxes doing something else. xD

Thank you!
This sort of slice-of-life is kind of par for the course for me. Like my story "When You Begin To Die", which also deals with death and elderly.
If I was alone, I'd just accept it. But it is a bit of a fear of mine to watch a loved one deteriorate like this. I hope I'd have the strength to do what this Fox did when it came to that.
