[P] Dragon Rider Jack
I was thinking to myself.. I love reading dragon rider books and stuff, and I don't have ANY dragon rider thing of my own! Freakin wild to me.
Anyway here's thoughts
I feel the world would be up and coming on trying to have laws and restrictions put on dragons and their riders. Can't decide if straight fantasy or more magic realism. Probably leaning toward more magic realism.
The dragons would also be sentient and can talk to their riders or whoever they choose worthy & form all kinds of relationships.
And in this world there'd probably be wealthy people who could buy specific dragon eggs and have them imprint on their child who has probably been studying dragoneering stuff and preparing for this day
But there's also tales of people taming feral/wild dragons and such, though it's not as easy to gain trust
Someone could help a dragon and befriend them or something like that
I figure there are probably also rebel factions who don't want regulations on dragon-handling/owning etc so people w dragons actively fight against it.. as I'm sure dragons also do not appreciate trying to be controlled
And probably also horrible people and dragons exist in general to just murder and steal and not be a part of any factions or anything at all
As for Jack specifically..
Jack would be the cool silent dude with questionable morals and a scary looking dragon. Not that the dragon is necessarily huge but probably off-putting
Jack might be one going around, not tied to laws, but helping dragons and killing poachers, or trying to free ones that are locked up for breeding for selling eggs etc or something 🤔 he def doesn’t agree with laws applied to them. He's something of a leader for a smaller rebel faction. They are more prone to violence.
Jack himself is a pretty angry guy, his temper is very short. However, if you manage to befriend him he will defend you and protect you (even if he still gets pissed and yells at you) Jack is a punch first, talk later (if talk at all) kind of guy.
As for how he got his dragon, he may have done something like.. tried protecting a baby dragon from something and the mom dragon showed up and scratched Jack up p bad before the juvenile dragon he saved had a chance to be like.. actually this human helped me
There's another character I have, Ryan, who would fit in by way of being a lone wolf and just killing etc for fun and feeding people to his dragon. He's kind of garbage and a bit of a sadist. But he doesn't have loyalty to any side, he and his dragon do whatever they want.
I also really prefer dragonrider stuff where the dragons cana ctually talk and have relationships with their humans.. if anyone knows any good books please lmk.. Always looking for me. I've read Temeraire series (hated the last book don't even get me started) And I have been reading The Songs of Chaos series.. I read a little of Pern when I was younger but I don't remember if the dragons actually speak to their humans. I'm sure there's more books I am missing.
Anyway if you made it this far- amazing! I don't usually ramble.
I'll move to scraps later but I'm really happy with the body language and everything with this so it's here for now :'D
