I'm going to defend myself by saying this is a (weird) exploration of the concept of transformation! Often, animals are described as brutal and primal, yet such characterization is used to justify even more brutal force against the "primitive ones." Similarly, those who are cruel at heart but constrained by social constructs may, upon transforming, blame their loss of control on the transformation and begin to commit all-too-human acts in the name of being a monster. But in truth, humans are always the only real monsters. That's how I feel when I see those out-of-control post-transformation monsters in movies, games and stories; they've simply taken off their masks.
I'm cheering on you! :D you definitely don't need to defend yourself
I don't really engage in transformation art or content but I know it feels seeing a topic you are very very passionate about being butchered by mainstream media and superficial ideas filtered by christian ideologies. But I appreciate the thought you brought up about wrong-doings justified by turning into a monster! While I can't name any serious media that handles that I feel like I have seen this somewhere ... Actually steven universe does that very well but it's not very Animal directed hehe.

I'm half-joking as well! As I've mentioned, I like to do pseudo-philosophical rationalizations.
But honestly, I'm not opposed to fantasies about becoming a monster or attributing blame to transformation doing power fantasy—after all, fantasy is just that, fantasy. My aim is just to capture that feeling without casting moral judgment, particularly on fetishes; doing so would be quite 'Christian'.
I believe that lust of complete destruction on self and other is a human impulse, perhaps, is a way to motive the change on oneself and the environment rapidly; it can be used for both good and bad things. Transformation is kind of an interesting way to explore those themes. However, I still treat my art as fetish art, than, you know, those very formal art. So for me, it should lean more towards the ridiculous side rather than the serious one.

I guess "Animorphs" does it quite well; you might even be able to treat Kafka's "Metamorphosis" as a post-transformation story (lmao).
It's not surprising that you can only find them in niche stuffs. Still, I guess people can find quite a bit if they look—like "The Farthest Star" by Rebecca Mickley, which is pretty good.
You see, I ramble a lot; hope it doesn't bother you! XD

It's somewhat like that, or, to offer a more unnecessarily complicated explanation, it's akin to those hypocritical types who will apologize with their words and tears in their eyes, yet fail to hide those sicken smiles for every moment of your bloody suffering with their new claws. And probably, if they're unlucky enough to revert to human form, they'll weep and claim they lost control and have no memory of the ordeal. "No, it's, it's not me!"
