2032 Recap (Happy New Year)
Oh look I managed to draw something 🥴 I wanted to draw this on new years Eve but first I was just slow then I got sick. I'll replace the file here with a better quality photo tomorrow
2023 was a good year for me. More good than bad, but the bad was PROFOUNDLY bad. So it feels a bit more like 50/50. But I'm still feeling good about it
Here's a recap, getting the bad out of the way first…
THE BAD:
One of my best friends died, followed by my aunt dying, and 2 other people died (I was not close to them but their deaths still impacted my life).
I didn't make any progress with getting a job/income/independence.
Vocational rehab dropping me last February, saying I'm too disabled for them to help, but then not helping me get disability benefits.
I got ghosted by a girl who I thought I clicked with. No shade to her, she was a busy person, I'm just bummed
THE GOOD:
Went to concerts, I got to see Depeche Mode in person, they were awesome and sounded great! Also for to go to Fleshgod Apocalypse, Lacuna Coil, The Birthday Massacre etc.
Went to Colorado for the first time and got to interact with wolves at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Center.
Went on a road trip from Seattle Washington to Las Vegas Nevada, went lots of new places on that trip! I love the desert so much!
In case you're wondering, I would never have been able to afford all of that (I only paid for the wolf experience and chipped in for food), my sister paid my way on all those trips/concerts. I'm so grateful and it really made this year amazingly fun. She absolutely didn't have to do that, but she did and I'm so so thankful
My sister and I also went on a road trip to Fairbanks, Alaska (about a days drive from where we live) and we brought Dante to find out how he would do on a trip/staying in a hotel. He did great. I was so proud of him, such a trooper
Other good things include my DVR therapist, who I only had limited time with, but she spoke my learning language and taught me how to control my anxiety and nervous system. I've been anxiety free for all of 2023, which I didn't think was possible
Also learning more about myself with new diagnosis and understanding why I am the way I am. It's really eye opening and profound
THE RANDOM (mostly good):
I could make a whole other post about my dog and learning to love him, it was tough because I was always kind of spiteful towards him… but I found a dog podcast that helped me to really understand and connect with him, and love him for who he is. He also kept hurting himself so much we had to get pet insurance (always a smart idea but never did it before). We paid more in vet bills this year then we did for Berry in 5 years. LOL. Ughh
But anyway that's my 2023 recap I'm sure you've heard me complain at length about it some of my journals. That's all for now.
Thank you to all who still follow me. Sorry that I never upload very often. Thanks for still keeping an eye on my account!
