A little self indulgent comic recreating a scene that happened while playing “Baldurs Gate 3” with a friend. Before committing to a long rest, we play a little one-on-one duel at camp for funsies.

My character, Raven, just leveled up her Ranger class and unlocked a binding spell that pretty much made my friend’s character, Umbra, miss all his attacks.

The banter and smack talk during this little scene was kinda hilarious, and I wanted to capture Raven’s satisfaction in besting her companion after he’s been such a smug know-it-all all day XD

Don’t worry, they’re still on good terms.

For this piece, I wanted to play with mixing grayscale and color spotting. So tying in all the reds in Raven was a happy touch to indicate the vines were her little bit of mischief. Umbra’s hair being a dirty blonde/sandy color was a happy opportunity to add some gold which complemented the green of both his eyes and pants.

The background was a doctored photo of a forest I ripped off google years ago. No idea how I could even look for the source to credit it. *shrug*
