Heesh'Nha has been leading her band of kobolds for some time now, living among them in their little village and trading with the nearby human settlement but she hadn't yet given up on getting revenge on the serpent tribes and reclaiming her throne.
Though she had become a bit more humble with the humans she just couldn't feel like she belonged and just saw the humans and kobolds as a means to get what she wanted. This would change one day when her kobold subjects discovered an ancient underground city under their mines which seemed to have belonged to a race of serpents ages ago but the strange thing was this lost race seemed more dragon then serpent judging by the sculptures and murals. This discovery intrigued her as she began exploring the ancient city and recording her findings while her kobolds excavated and started to reclaim some of the buildings and artifacts and she actually had to reign them in so she could actually make records.
Though she could not read the texts found among the rubble she could piece together some information about this lost race from illustrations, seemed like they often were at war with the dragons which mean this city was at least a couple thousand years old predating known dragon history which never mentioned being at war with a race of serpents. Perhaps the dragons were the victor of these wars and simply erased this race from history, or this city was a last bastion and they simply died out forgotten as most of the city was intact aside from the wear of time as there were no signs of any battle in the city as far as Heesh'Nha could tell. There were a few buildings that had some fire damage which might have been accidental as most buildings so far seemed to have been abandoned overnight, either cleared of possessions or left in a hurry as tables were still set and one place still had the water running, completely eroding the bath and part of the floor over time.
Seems like this city and it's lost people still have many mysteries to uncover, such as the purpose of the strange dark crystals found around the city, perhaps a source of power that she could use as a weapon to get her revenge, and who knows what ancient spells she might find if she could decipher their writings....
