You could put some eldritch-lookin-ass runes on him that match his eyes (I am not biased towards glowing rune tattoos at all)

I think it's actually pretty on brand for him to keep changing considering the eldritch strangeness.

Honestly tho, depends on if you wanna go with the obvious eldritch influence, or the subtle hint of it all. All about what you want them to seem and feel - a hidden influence can eat away at the heart of the afflicted whilst no one notice too much, whilst a noticable influence can be very isolating and self-gnawing anxiety of being seen. I like both, but when it comes to easier time to interract with other things and people, the subtle way is easier to run - like this! Can always have freak out moments of tentacle overflow later on, but yah. Thoughts for brain.
