It’s a little cliche to be sure, but Todd’s definitely struck a raw nerve on Emma. She’s got the tough act where nothing affects her to the point of being an asshole, but killing someone, even in self defence, fucked her up. She pretends like it didn’t and being in Revenant is just par for the course for her.
