A Christmas gift for someone called "Fenrirthegay" as part of a Secret Santa exchange arranged by
combatraccoon and
fancyskunk. I hope you like it!
I didn't have to draw all three of these characters, but I saw their elaborate designs and crazy markings and egregious amounts of eye makeup and I apparently thought to myself, "Deadlines schmedlines, this will be a fun challenge!" ...And then spent about a week just deciding how to have these cats in the same image: "Couch."
I'm really proud of one trick I learned, though, to quickly make all those pointy fluffy fur tufts and fur speckles: Paint Shop Pro has a "Brush Variance" feature that can set what aspects of the current paint brush can be controlled by various tablet features like tilt, pressure, that sort of thing. Turns out this feature doesn't require a tablet at all, and stuff like opacity and brush size (and even brush position) can be set to do a variety of wild things based entirely on mouse movement. So as soon as I realized I could use that feature to make some really good-looking cat fluff shapes, I went kinda nuts! So much floooooof!
The pun I added as an afterthought. Kinda proud of that too. Heehee.
(I still have trouble with deadlines though.)
