More Faithposting. Her design really has changed a lot from the initial concept... For the better, I hope. Believe it or not, she was actually drawn as a feline for a while before I settled on an otter as her species instead. With her design more or less worked out, I'll probably look towards refining a few other characters now.

Sure is. There's a little bit of leeway when it comes to drawing figures, but it seems as though expressions need to be drawn pretty carefully in order to convey what needs conveying.
You're definitely right about the canine / otter thing though, I think there are a few otter-y visual elements I could emphasize more to differentiate the character better.

Otters are odd. I toyed with them for an idea of mine, and the massive difference between river otters and ocean otters is like comparing a border collie to a pug. XD
Keep at it and don't be afraid to try out more extreme/niche/rare expressions just to play with the maximum values.
