...I really haven't had that much time to upload all my stuff to social media, but I'm trying to catch up a bit on FA at least
It's been a while since we've seen an actual illustrated image of Proto, so I wanted to fix that. By the way, if you wish to see the data-logs he's written in the back you can check those out here on my page somewhere... FA is a bit harder to sort things than DA at least to me. (Also yeah this is totally a doodle and stuff, worked on it for like... 30 minutes I think?)
Who exactly is Proto?
He is the "Pillar of Progress", the owner of the Space Station that orbits the Realm of Materia and one of the legendary heroes of Cycle 9. The man who searched for immortality, but not for his own goals, but to hopefully save all of cycle 9 from disaster. Believing the universe itself was slowly dying out from apathy and that he believed if he found immortality, he could reverse its effects. Little did he know he would find the universal devourers known as the Beasts of Chaos or let alone that the Gods were real and were simply found in the cradle of the universe, known as Planet Materia. He and his dwarves would work tirelessly to prevent the destruction of the cycle, or at least ensure that there would be another universal cycle after this one. Through his determination he helped the Pillars achieve their goal of destroying the beasts and ushering in a brand-new age. With this new age he decided to take it upon himself to ascend into godhood and record and document much of the new ongoing realm. Let it be from its various monsters, species, planets, places, the likes... Although of course he is now alone in this endeavor.
Commander Proto is very crass and to the point. He is also very much not afraid to speak his mind, but he can also find himself to be excited to find new things. It is also to note that he is married to Tia Materia in a polyamorous relationship of sorts. Although he can also be very narrow minded after he became divine. Believing most people are not allowed to see his presence, but instead- only view him through words on a screen.

I want to point out that this is an Epic Dark Fantasy setting with a lot of mythological and religious tones and that there is no real-life connection to any of these events, religions, characters and it is fully, grounded, in fantasy. There is no copyright infringement also intended to other forms of media as Skin to Scales is meant to be its own thing and something I've been working on for a very long time. This is the same setting where faith is a massive part of the magic system, and it is usually meant to have a very bright and colorful art style to help balance the tone.
