Sand fluttered off the shore and flew through the current, sticking to yellow scales in the thick humidity to let the grainy sensation climb across the thin body as the air breezed through. The waves were calm but warned of a danger soon to arrive from over the waters, seen with just a simple eye.
Sudz stood calmly on the pier, a family home just a little while away with the shore always gifting them the joy of a sea breeze around the clock. But this time was something a little more, angry clouds piling on top to let their arcs rain down, flashes flooding the air with each bite it took out the atmosphere. The serpent paid some attention to it, sipping on a comforting cocktail as the sounds of thunder rolled up quietly behind and the pretty light show gave them a view to enjoy. Around these times of the year, these beauties form and go to bless everyone under their rain and anger, it is really a moment to let your responsibilities pause with showers pounding your window as your house shakes under every flash, and perhaps the occasional power outage too...
With a small group occupying the dock, Sudz listened and chatted with his friends for a good while paying little mind to nature brewing right behind him. But then came that one strong gust...
It was like the sea had pulled Sudz's head away to pay attention to her, even for just a moment. The water could be heard reacting in return with the dark blue swells starting to crash into the pier; the lightning splitting the sky in the corner of the Serpent's eyes once he turned, and there he saw what appeared to be women of the ocean revealing herself..
It was just for a split second, but it was more than enough for that instant to be remembered as clear as day. Like a ghost rising from the clouds, the red tendrils crawled up high into the dark sky, the red stain illuminating everything in its short existence. And under its watch, Sudz could only watch on in amazement as it felt like it lasted for eternity; its soul-capturing beauty was now ingrained in a memory of this night to be remembered for ages to come.
