I've never played Roblox. I'm not familiar with DOORS or this creature named Rush.

So while this is visually a reference to a game, to me it's not about that. It's a depiction of Missy, also haunted by a shadow creature. While she's significantly less targeted than Amaiya, I can't say she's not affected by what they represent either.

When I was younger, in the age ranges Missy represents, I struggled a lot with visual hallucinations of shadow people. For a long time that was something really hard for me to admit to. When I use shadow creatures in art to represent unwanted thoughts, it's also pulling from a different aspect of my past experiences. Kind of double dipping what's being represented. I think with Missy art especially the focus is closer to representing that specific element of childhood trauma.
