An old doodle from some time ago that I decided to try out colouring using a new method with gradient maps. I think it soooorta worked, but I dunno if there's really much advantage over what I was already doing. Could do with some refinement I'm sure, but I don't know how patient I am to learn a new technique from the ground up. ^^;
Honestly not sure how happy I am with this. I just hate doing backgrounds. I think the concept is cool though.

Vice's history was as a powerful lieutenant in a militant cult- the cult leader's most trusted underling and his favourite concubine. However, the leader was cruel and power hungry and when the army finally decided to shut them down, he cast her and everyone else who served him aside to save his own skin. Ordering his followers to fight to the death in an apocalyptic battle, he fled and surrendered to the military, claiming (with words sweetened by substantial bribes), that Vice and the other lieutenants were responsible and he was only a figurehead, proclaimed by them as the messiah and held against his will.

Back at the compound, Vice dutifully prepared to obey her orders and give her life for her dark god. Adorned in her finest priestess robes and strapped with every weapon she could carry, she led a furious defence, slaying countless government soldiers for hours until finally an airstrike flattened the building she was in and knocked her unconscious.
