Jynara didn't had such thing called "childhood", when she was kiddo, her and other people of her tribe were raid by other tribe that wasn't from here. All she remember from that time is that enemy had red hair. Troops of enemy tribe captured most of the people, including Jynara and her close friend. Both tried to help each other to fight, escape or cheer up in those trying times. But...it was hard.

One night there was free window, no guards around, Jynara and her friend thought it was a chance to escape, so they took it, poor souls didn't know that enemy just wanted to make some fun for themselves. Enemy decided to hunt down those two. Arrows and spears were flying next to them, but Jynara and her friend didn't stopped even for a second. When they thought they finally made it, spear out of nowhere header right into Jyn's head from behind. Before she could even react her friend pulled her out from spear's way, but as price for that, spear went straight through her heart, right on Jynara's eyes. With last words she tried to tell Jyn to run away while she can, but Jyn didn't wanted to leave her behind, troops of enemy finally caught up to Jynara. Thats when she lost it, blind rage corrupted her brain, she pinned down one guard, stole his sword and in blind rage, she killed all four of them.

Jynara buried her friend friend on a cliff, so she could at least "feel" freedom even tho she was long gone from this world. She didnt know what to do now, Jynara was alone, and broken, but she knew she can't stay here. thats where she decided to build a raft and escape as far as possible.

Day after day, but she couldnt notice even a single piece of land in sight, she thought it was her end, drained from days without food and water made her even weaker, so she finally passed out. Just to be wake up by some older lady that looked like a combination of fish mixed with lizard. Old lady treated her wounds, gave her food and water. She told she was living here alone now, Jynara is first one to come across those islands in years.

Since Jyn didnt had better option she asked if she could stay and help lady on a daily basis, lady said she never had grandkids and would be happy to finally have someone who could help her. Happy Jynara hugged old lady with tears in her eyes and almost immediately started doing her chores, even tho she wasn't asked yet.

Years passed, Jynara finally grew up to strong independent lady, place where they lived was well-kept like never before, just because of her. But...nothing can last forever. Old lady that took care of Jyn didn't had any strength left, she looked at Jynara and she knew she will be alright without her. But she wanted to give her last gift she could offer, she took an old map, and went outside to talk with Jynara. She slowly step by step approached Jyn, gave her map without a word, hugged her that one last time before she...died...in Jynara's arms.

Jynara, made a raft where she placed old lady's body, she covered it with her favorite flowers and push it towards the unending horizon. She remembered that old lady wanted to be one with the ocean when she die, so she thought that would be the best way to honor her. After few minutes of silence, she looked at the map she gave her, it was a map to Xeyokha. She didnt recalled that name, but since it was gift from old lady, Jynara decided to set sail into unknown for her.
