idk if it's a real term or not, but I have seen a couple comics with a similar situation- the person's original personality is still intact and in there but whatever action they're about to take is "filtered" by magic, eg. if they're going to cuss someone out they start gushing about them instead. Or they try to talk normally but all their sentences forcibly have an accent put on them. That kind of thing! Basically their own body doesn't listen to them but it extends to what they say as well.
My interpretation was these two are scared/angry but the magic is forcing them to compliment the person that TFed them instead, so that's what made me think of it.
