For the curious the implant is fairly small and surgically placed in the off arm about a third of the way down from the wrist. So it's not exceptionally risky to have it removed, but that doesn't do a lot to make having it forcibly removed sound fun.

I mean the station definitely has the gear to safely remove and install the implants, but no guarantee the equipment is still running, that anyone with the training still has the proper body or permission to use it, or even that they'd be willing to go through the trouble of preserving him while forcibly removing the implant.
So yeah, wouldn't feel too confident about surviving the process either.
