I actually drew this last year oop.
ANYWAY HELLO NEW FURSONA. I have finally embraced my inner bird. He's a turkey vulture and still nameless, despite the fact I've been drawing him for months now. This picture is actually a little outdated already as I've fussed with the shape of his face more- mainly moving his nostrils forward so they don't interfere with his glasses- but I still like it enough to post. I also scanned a bunch of doodles from my sketchbook. I'll try to get those compiled into some sort of sketchdump today.
I still have Tumult! He's been my fursona since i was 15-16 so he will always exist as a part of me in some form. Lately he just feels like less of a current sona and more of like...an embodiment of a period of my life? Like he represents a certain energy and chaos that I can, for better or worse, no longer connect to. I'll definitely still be drawing him though! Especially for exploring past thoughts/feelings/etc.

I get what you mean about growing out of a character/fursona that was closely based on a certain part of your life. I think that's a good thing, to be able to gently part ways with a very personal representation of your past, not with anger or disgust, just "this isn't really relatable to me anymore". Aesthetics you were into and things you found relatable at 15 are probably not gonna still be relatable to someone with a decade+ of adult life experience under their belt.
It's so interesting!! Like I'm usually able to update aesthetics as my preferences change, like Tumult of today looks nothing like the monstrosity that was Tumult at age 15-16 lmao, and I definitely still like Tumult's design!! There's just something at the ~core of his being~ that is so specific & entwined with the last ~15 years of my life. Forcing him to align with me today just feels like I'd be 'clipping his wings' in a way if that makes sense. He's still a big part of me, just maybe not the most current part.
Idk its wild how meaningful these goofy cartoon animals can be!!!!!!!!!
