At the dawn of the Human Itrean conflict of 2349, there were few who had ever dared seen the Itreans. Their mysterious ships of war were a threat to the UWA as the UHN was being wiped out. However, it was later revealed that the Itreans consisted of multiple clans, all struggling to wipe out the other. That was until the end of 2349 when the Itreans discovered humanity.
Who was the first Itrean face to meet humanity? Who was the voice and representative of her people? When the general public would see the Itreans for the first time, it would be none other than Ambassador Ifra. But who was she really, and what were her origins?
Ifra was born in New Atrea not long after the end of the Emphra War. She is a Yutilian of common elitism, where she would start as a secretary before ultimately proving her political skills could be further utilized. Ultimately, she would be employed to work under the Getrean royalty as an aid to the lead ambassador, helping maintain good relations between the Getreans and the Gui’optre Kingdoms. Her improving skills in trade negotiations would remain steady as she hammered out any details that needed to be taken care while engaging with the Gui’optre gentry. However, by 2330, it was proven that the United Itrean Republic was failing. Ifra, along with other ambassadors were later selected to serve as the Yutilian President’s Diplomatic Corps Unit. She, along with other Yutilians, struggled to maintain the peace with the other clans but ultimately failed. With the collapse of the United Itrean Republic, Ifra lost her position and returned to Getrea to serve alongside the Getrean Princess, this time as the lead ambassador. Here, she would meet and become the mate of Fol’u’cre’da, a known New Atrean politician and respected associate of the Getrean royal family. This would remain in effect until the outbreak of Zilik’s Disease at the end of 2339. With the advent of the engineered virus, Ifra would lose her beloved mate.
Ifra is, by many, one of several ambassadors and diplomats that work throughout the T’rintar clan. Even an intergalactic civilization is not without its politics. Despite the failure of the United Itrean Republic, the T’rintar clan still tried to offer peace treaties to the other clans. Zilik’s Disease made its mark as half of the Itrean population had been wiped out, while the wars only continued to erode those numbers. In 2344, Ifra was given the notification that she was to be chosen to serve in New Atrea’s Diplomatic Corps under the T’rintar President, along with twenty other ambassadors and politicians. From there, she would make numerous ventures to try to establish peace under the former Itrean Republican headquarters meetings.
However, by 2349, a new event would transpire for the Itreans when the Aksren and T’rintar clan would encounter the UHN. The Itreans had encountered a few alien races before, but even fewer of those with intelligence and spacefaring capabilities that humanity had reached. Curiosity drove the T’rintar clan to analyze humanity, however, it was unclear if the humans were violent and warlike as they were or if the humans were friendly. At the same time, debates raged if the T’rintar simply wished to study human beings from a cautious point of view rather than meet them face to face. A small target was isolated, and the T’rintar raided Eutera, kidnapping its colonists. Upon studying human beings, they discovered that human males could interbreed with the Itrean women and produce children who were immune to Zilik’s Disease. Male babies could be born once again.
Ifra was the first to volunteer to negotiate with the Euteran colonists. It was no easy task, as the humans had been forcibly removed from their homes, and a language barrier firmly existed. However, Ifra was smart in her negotiations. As further interaction occurred, the T’rintar President began to rely upon Ifra’s diplomatic skills. When Ven’re had chosen Kelren to become her mate, Ifra was already in good relations with the Getrean princess and easily convinced her to release Ven’re to participate in the early breeding experimentations. It all proved to be of major benefit as Ven’re would turn out to be the first Itrean to produce a male offspring free of Zilik’s Disease.
It didn’t take long after the birth of Ven’re’s baby that Ifra made a request to the T’rintar President in wanting a partnership treaty with the UWA. Her skills in learning English, experience in working with the Euteran colonists, and prior experiences in negotiation made her an easy pick. Ifra would be chosen to be the representative of her people and be the first face for the human race to gaze upon. Jonah Kane, the UWA ambassador, was equally as receptive with Ifra, and it didn’t take long for a partnership treaty to be made, along with the release of the remaining Euteran colonists unharmed and safely transported back to Eutera. It was also announced that she and Kane had become mates and that they intended to have children together, a good sign of the prosperity between the two peoples.
Ifra is considered to be a well-balanced politician, a true New Atrean Yutilian in the aspect of progressive ideologies while respecting traditional values. While Zilik’s Disease has hampered many of the original past ideologies of Itrean psychology, Ifra has managed to stay well-liked by both Itrean and human politicians. She’s been appointed as the lead Ambassador to the UWA and serves as a close advisor to the T’rintar president in regard to UWA-T’rintar relations. However, a few Itreans have pointed out that Ifra tends to act as some Yutilians are known for: Using light Feigning Tactics, Being Coy, and Acting Innocent. However, she’s more known to use these political tactics if she knows it will work. In other words, she is much smarter than she appears to be. Among one of the controversies under Ifra’s policies was negotiating the surrender of Earth to the T’rintar clan. While Earth (also known as the original Itrean homeworld) was in a severely degraded shape, Ifra and Kane have made promises that Earth was to be restored to a fully habitable planet in at least 50 years and that Earthlings would be incorporated as T’rintar clan citizens. The surrender of Earth was a bargaining chip to help ensure that the T’rintar clan would provide protection for the UWA from further Aksren and Shal’rein clan incursions. It is not without its criticism, as some on Earth were not in full agreement with the clause upon the signing of the treaty. At the same time, other colonies, such as Batrice, have not fully enjoyed Ifra’s political ideals, claiming that she “conveniently overlooked” the criticisms made by Batrice or Earth politicians. For any Itrean politician, Ifra has to maintain a careful balance of negotiation, compromise, awareness of her decision-making, and settlement to make all politicians happy.
Ifra is considered a middle ground for Itrean politicians, being a social elite, carrying long feathers and clothes of higher status while being less formal. She’s considered to be friendly, open, and welcoming to the humans she meets. Others have seen her as the best person needed at the right time in human and Itrean history. No doubt, she and Kane carry a long road ahead of them as they continue to maintain warm relations between the UWA and the T’rintar Clan.
