This is Jake Long (the American Dragon), with Arthur Patrick "Spud" Spudinski (Jake's male best friend), Trixie Carter (Jake's female best friend), Rose (Jake's girlfriend), Haley Long (Jake's sister), Jonathan Long (Jake and Haley's father), and Susan Long (Jake and Haley's mother) as dragons together.
In New Animal Life, Jake Long and his family are natural-born dragons (instead of humans that turn into dragons, as humans don't exist in NAL) that are skilled in martial arts and magic. Since magic and magical creatures are known to the world, Jake Long isn't the magical protector of some secret community of magical creatures. Instead, Jake Long is an average student who hangs out with his friends, dates his girlfriend, and learns martial arts under his grandfather's tutelage. Rose was never taken by the Huntsclan and lived happy life with her family, and with her boyfriend, Jake Long. She also takes part in Lao Shi's martial arts school, along with Spud, Trixie, and Haley Long. While Jake's mother, Susan Long, is skilled in martial arts, she prefers to be a mother and work as a carterer than her father's dojo. Jonathan may don't know magic or martial arts, but even as an average dragon, he's still a loving father. Spud maybe slow-witted, he is rather smart and is skilled in magic. When they graduate from school, Jake Long plans to run his grandfather's dojo while being a semi-professional rapper with Rose being his wife. Spud tends to be a full-fledged magical wizard. Trixie is going to be a doctor in biology.
In DustinOmniverse, in an American Dragon: Jake Long Alternate Universe called Secret Magic World, Jake Long, his family, and his friends are all natural-born dragons that live in a secret parallel magical world where magical creatures live in a modern magic-driven society. Jake and his friends live the magically ordinary lives as young dragons, while Jake’s parents work as a merchant and an innkeeper. However, their average lives changed when they stumble upon a magic portal that takes them to the human world, which everyone in their world believed that humans were a myth. Upon doing so caught the attention of the shadowy villainous Huntsman and his evil Huntsclan. With the teachings of Jake’s grandfather, Luong Lao-Shi, Jake and his friends must protect their magical home world and its people from any invading forces that will threaten their existence. As a team, Jake plays the leader, Spud is the brains of both magic and technology, Trixie is the strategy expert, and Rose is the jack of all trades and martial arts expert. During their adventures, Jake’s sister, Haley, would tag along at times.
In an alternate universe called Monsterworld, an abrnomally untold event causes the sun to diminish and Earth has gain three eternal full moons, making the world forever night time. The three full moons also magically transform all humans, animals, and creatures into monsters, making the planet into a monster civilization, renaming the Earth as Monsterworld with everyone living different new lives as monsters. Jake Long's friends and family transform into dragons like him. However, despite being dragons, they live their same usual lives, with Jake Long no longer having to be the protector of magical creatures and live a life as a dragon student with his friends and girlfriend.
In an alternate universe called Monsters Rule (a universe inspired by
KTurtle's Monster Cruise/Shop series), Monster transformation has became so popular that everyone in the world has been transformed into monsters. From this day forward, monsters and animals have become the new dominant species. Jake's friends and family turn themselves into dragons like Jake, Haley, and Grandfather Luong Lao Shi.
