The lab where Binnoc and her family were living in was like a prison. They couldn't leave unless they were fighting the rattarums. they were allowed to walk around, but were locked in a big room at night. If any of them try to escape form the lab, they would get killed (two of Binnoc's sisters did and were killed before her eyes as an "example". Binnoc would often use her ability to see great distances as she watches the outside world and daydreams about one day to live her life on the outside and have adventures with her sisters and not being cooped up in the lab.
