What Have We Become?

President trying to turn us communist
without even knowing it!
As a toxic red sludge from a local factory
flows through the streets of Danube!

What have we become?

Churchman protests meditation from the east
just because it doesn’t fit in with his view on religion.
Attorney jailed
for taking advantage of his government given right.


What have we become?

Hate is fueled by the heart
when one man loves another
Suicide after getting caught
in a private show of affection
least that’s what the papers
and news shows say
but they can’t stop digging
deeper into the kid’s “private” life
all for higher ratings and better reviews

What have we become?

Protesting a funeral
for a brave man
who died for his country?
Is that how low we have sunk?
Leave him be.
He’s dead and gone now.
