A story about a college student who became possessed by a magic spirit and turned into a fox enjoy.

When a young college student gets fed up with his life, having to study and work a part-time job just to barely afford his dorm rent, he spirals into a huge depression cycle. One day, when he was studying at the library till late at night, he walked home and in the woods next to the sidewalk, he saw a mysterious figure. He went to investigate, and it was a magical fox spirit. The spirit saw the college student and asked him, "Hey, can you please help me?" The student replied, "Okay, what do you need?" The spirit said, "Your body. I need to possess you so I don't fade from existence." The student replied, "Can't you possess, like, a deer or something? And if I did let you possess me, what would that entail?" The spirit replied, "I can't possess any other animal, unfortunately, because I can't manipulate animal DNA like a human's DNA. And when I do possess you, you will transform into my physical form. So basically, me possessing you will cause your DNA to link with mine. And if you let me stay in your body for a while, your entire DNA profile will be my DNA. Don't worry, though, you'll still be you mentally, just not physically. So, what do you say?" The student replied, "What do I say? Of course, I've been looking for an escape from my awful human life anyway. So becoming a cute little fox and still retaining my mentality, my body is all yours." The spirit replied, "Okay, here goes nothing." Then, the spirit enters the boy's body as his DNA begins to change. He begins transforming into a fox very painfully as his DNA is completely altered. "Ah, it hurts," the student said. By this point, he was already halfway through his transformation. But the spirit inside his body said, "If it's getting too painful for you, I can leave your body. But you'll just be a half-human, half-fox hybrid for the rest of your life." The student replied with a pain in his voice, "No, I'm already by this point 69 percent through my transformation. Might as well go all the way." And after another agonizing half hour, it's finished. His DNA no longer had a single bit of his humanity or his ancestors' DNA. His DNA was 100 percent fox and other fox ancestors. The spirit emerged from his body, slightly patting him on the head as he looked at his new body. After a bit of conversation, the spirit entered back into the fox's body where he'll stay forever (or at least until he dies, then the spirit will have to find a new human host). But for now, the man pulls off his university sweatshirt and steps out of his pajama shorts and enjoys his new life as a fox, getting hunting pointers from the spirit from time to time.
