A very special bellpull for a very special niece.
In my family we had the tradition of getting a bellpull with our birth details embroidered on, to hang up on display. My mom made the ones for my siblings and I, and plenty of my cousins too. But over the years began losing interest in embroidery, as her grandkids expect to get theirs. So she let me take over, finishing up what she had started for them.
Then.. I made this one. My favourite niece, already nearing 3 years old without a bellpull, I decided to make her a very unique and personal one.
Displaying the things she loves the most, like dinosaurs, unicorns and bats!
I did the design myself from scratch, drawn in hand and adjusted digitally after scanning. Making the calculations and experimentation to get a feel of how to make a cross stitch pattern myself with so much detail. My biggest project yet and I couldn't be prouder!
All is left is my mom helping with mounting it properly so it's ready to hang on a wall in my sister's home!
I'm so very proud of this, and hope others will appreciate it too.
