It’s easy to see why Dex’s love has grown for this magical realm hidden high above the forest floor. That incredible touch of golden rays piercing the canopy above, meshing with the cool forest breeze that carries the forest’s natural aroma. He can’t help but take deep breaths that fill his lungs with the ever-present relaxing, almost hypnotic scent. For a moment during his meditative stay up here, possibly before or after a lengthy nap, he giggles to himself. Briefly wondering if this space could unseat the beach as his favorite place. Actually toying with the idea. But that giggle more of a “not quite” conclusion in his mind. There certainly was an unmatched charm that made this place special, but after another slow breath sampling the breeze, he knew he was much more in tune with the beach environs he practically calls home. Although he thought, there's nothing that says he can't profess his love for the treasures the forest shares with him.

He gives a quick glance at the spot next to him where a bird landed. Pecking at the sturdy branch before looking up at him. Dexter smiles softly, partially annoyed at himself for not bringing any seeds to give to the bird. But that thought washed away by a stronger gust of wind, causing the forest to give off a soft roar as the ocean of leaves danced and twisted on the rocking branches. Only lasting a moment, quickly settling down but enough to remind him so much of the sound waves created as they crashed ashore. “Ya know, maybe beaches and the forests aren’t all that different from each other." The bird gives Dexter a funny look, making Dex smile even more. "Oh come now, you haven't even seen the beach..." That instant the bird begins to chirp rather loudly with a bit more of an annoyed flavor. Dexter gently places his finger on the bird's head to give a soft stroking. Calming the bird that soon hopped onto his leg. "Then again, I suppose that's the beauty and thrill of meeting fellow adventurers. Never quite know the distances they've traveled or the vast array of lands experienced from just a passing glance." The two sat with each other for about a half-hour longer, in silence as the bird scanned the surroundings. All the while, Dexter allowed himself to flow with the forest ambiance in a state of peace, feeling almost as if he were a part of it. Ever thankful to Mother Nature for allowing him to embrace this experience. Dex knew he couldn't stay here forever, nor would the bird stay with him. Yet he felt a small twinge of sadness as another bird of a similar type landed near them. The bird he'd been sitting with hops up and leaps over to what Dexter presumed to be its mate. His ears fluttering, delighted at the little song the two sang to each other before stopping for a brief few seconds to look back at him. With a friendly wave, the two sing one last colorful chirp before flying off into the canopy together. Leaving a smiling Dex to stretch and give off a few yawns, ready to enjoy whatever the rest of the day had in store for him...
