Oh, I wish I had a French fry cutter but they still came out great!!! Letting everyone know this recipe is one I picked while visiting Philly a few years back.
Cooking the Steak
I bought steak that was already shaved (I chopped a bit more), drizzling a little olive oil into the pan before cooking it. Don't add any spices yet, once the steak is fully cooked then add your spices. Adding spices to your steak before it's cooked will absorb that juice from the steak, and that's not the true Philly way.
If you want to I threw a couple of slices of American cheese on top, and threw the sandwich in the oven set to 350F, for about 2-3 minutes. This is if you want to toast your bread and have melted cheese.
Cooking the Fries
Preheat your oven to 375F
Spices I Used
Paprika
Kosher salt
Garlic powder
Olive oil
Before slicing up your potatoes, bring them over to the sink, and give them a good washing in cold water. I didn't peel the skin off my potatoes because I like the skin but you can (you're a monster if you do). Anyways once your potatoes are cut into thin slices, soak them in cold water for about 30 minutes or more. Dump the potatoes into a strainer, rinse them off with cold water, dry them off, throw them back into your bowl, throw your spices on top, pour some olive oil on them, and start mixing everything. Cook the fries at 375F for 20 minutes and check on them. After the 20 minutes is done, set the oven to 425F, and set the oven for another 20 minutes.
Tip: I coated my sheet pan with some olive oil so the fries wouldn't stick, and sprinkled a little more salt on top.
