My very first drawing of Amaiya, dating back to September 2021.

At this point, I was on HRT but still really uncomfortable with a trans label. I got the name Amaiya by combining the name I'd already internalized as my preferred name(Even if I was many months from admitting that still) with Anima. Amaiya was to represent my 'feminine spirit' but I was still uncomfortable depicting her as the woman she is now.

That's a big part of why her fur pattern is that way on her chest. A resemblance of breasts born out of a time when I was scared to draw her with them.

Seeing this picture, it's crazy. It was my first attempt basically ever at drawing, and it really shows. Seeing how much I've learned to draw on my own since then, and seeing the amazing work of the artists I've comissioned, I never expected Amaiya to be what she is now.

All the art I have, all the self-discovery I made. This drawing started it all. It's nice to look back at the past and appreciate just have far I've gotten since then.
