I still maintain that I am absolutely capable of keeping my beak shut and will not just scoop up and gulp down anyone and everyone. 99% of my preys either ask to be nommed or need to be nommed.
But, um, when you've got a voice coming from your belly constantly asking who you're talking to and/or when do they get to meet them, you'd be surprised how many people will become the former. Especially if they understand Poke'speak and the voice coming from inside you is that of a charizard.
I never understood the appeal of squirmy preys. My favorite preys are the ones that snuggle up to each other and purr.
