* In Japan, Oyakodon means "mother and child" though if you are more pervy, it can also mean mother and daughter threesome :P

>───── ❁ Introduction ❁ ─────<
Hello everyone! This is my first time posting a food image on my page. I have recently found myself in a situation where I had to begin to cook for myself. I grew up in a Japanese household and ate Japanese food everyday so I have a lot of knowledge from consuming such foods and have adapted a pallet for such foods. For this dish, I wanted to make oyakodon but I didn't quite have the ingredients for it and I didn't look up a recipe but I did what I can. I would also like to note that I am an extreme beginner chef!

>───── ♡ Steps ♡ ─────<
Note: This was made only for me so I will be providing steps on how to make this for one serving for a pretty small-sized person.
➤ Start cooking one cup of rice in a rice cooker. However, only 1/2 a cup will be used in this dish, the left over rice can be put in a container and stored in the fridge for another meal.
➤ Slice pork into strips and tenderize the meat with a fork and sprinkle in black pepper on both sides. IF you have ginger and garlic powder, sprinkle on ginger and garlic on the meat during this step as well. Only put a little bit of garlic powder though. IF you have chicken instead of pork, follow the same steps. However, the chicken may look more like small chunks than strips which is honestly preferable.
➤ Cut 1/8th of the onion into strips. IF you have spring onions, cut one whole spring onion.
➤ IF you have Japanese wild parsley, cut off 5 or so leaves to be used as garnish as the last step.
➤ Put a small to medium sized pan on the stove on medium heat and pour in mirin until the pan is 2/3 covered. Wait until it starts sizzling.
➤ Dump the onion (and spring onion if you have it) onto the pan, and pour a little bit of soy sauce onto it. Cook for 3 minutes.
➤ Add the pork strips to the pan, move the heat to medium low heat. Add soy sauce and teriyaki sauce. Cook until the sauce has cooked into the meat, I didn't time how long this took.
➤ Crack two eggs into the pan and scramble them in.
➤ Take off heat and put the contents of the pan into a bowl with rice already in it.
➤ Add Japanese wild parsley on top as garnish if you have it.
Bone-Apple-Teeth as the French may say.
