Oh my god, Sculptris is AMAZING.
So you remember this, right?

Well that's pretty dated by now. I'm working on giving Timon an upgrade in Second Life. I've already sculpted him a new torso and ears using Moment of Inspiration(MoI), which is a beginner's sculpting program -- its very limited, but relatively easy to learn.
When it came time to sculpt a new head, I knew that MoI wasn't going to cut it. But Sculptris -- I can't believe how incredibly EASY this program is! It may not have every fancy feature that other programs have, but making and texturing a sculpture seems almost effortless when compared to something like 3DSmax.
These screenshots show what I hope will be my new and improved head for Timon in Second Life. I just need to learn how to convert the file into something that SL likes. I'm working on that.
A few points to note:
1) The ears and hair were left out intentionally, as I already have them in SL. The red area is just a reference for where the hair will be placed. Timon has not smeared his hair back with gel.
2) The vertical line going up the center of the head is a reference marker that Sculptris places, and will not transfer over into SL.
3) The final sculpt to go into Second Life will have the eyes hollowed out. This is so that I can put moving eyes and eyelids in.
