Gonna hafta agree with other commenters, this definitely reminds me of Avatar. In fact, there's an episode in (I think) the second season where a fire-bender bends a dragon just like this. You really should watch more of it... it's quite epic, and I don't say that lightly.

Brilliant colors in this, simply spectacular. The use of the darker background to really bring out the flames... good tactic.
Also, THATS why you never cross the streams. Fire demon.

It works quite well. I'm gonna have to keep that technique in mine and induct it into my arsenal. Specially since I've been tinkering more with painting on my tablet lately.

Sweet! I've found that working in a cell shaded style (like my iron artists) can be quite good to get the hang of high contrast work, since you have a hard edge on the shading, and only one shading layer to work with, you have to be every conscious of the body contours and such.

Quite interesting. I'll be filing that bit of knowledge away for (hopefully) future use. I do so enjoy learning new things, it augments my current awesomeness, you see. XD
I think its near time for a style upgrade anyways, so, with all this new learning and practice with the little tablet, maybe I can find something that'll work out well enough!
