Character

Kim was created as an accidental fusion from three different people. They were born in three different places and times.

The oldest part of herself is the goat Micha, born in Germany in the late 1980s. Micha was interested in combining magic with technology, arcatech, and made it his life's work. His business was running well, but with that success came a commitment that took up all the time in his life. When the Wellspring War destroyed his life's work overnight, he had very little left, especially no one to love. Still, dutifull as ever, he lended his services to repair archatech appliances, but the goat had grown old, bitter and full of regrets, and even the prospect to go into space with the Pioneer did little to make him feel alive again...

Kiara is the youngest part of herself, born in Kenya in the early 2020s to a loving family. She grew up in not the richest family, but they got by with what they had, and especially each other. She was a curious and enthusiastic girl, who loved to craft things from the trash she found, and particular electronics were of particular interest of hers. The Wellspring War up-ended her teenage years, but once peace came and First Contact was made, her life was vastly improved by the alien prescence uplifting everyone's living standards in the area, especially the poor. She got a chance to study electronics, and after graduation she enlisted at Starfleet to become an engineer. She was assigned to the Pioneer as a Junior crew member.

Inžreś is the only part of her not born on Earth, but on Nagaraja in the late 2010s. She came from a family of high society, as one of the few three-eyed nagas, who are know for their magic prowess. Her mother was a cold and very controlling person, laying out a plan for her life she had to follow. She has known little freedom, and little happiness, especially when her skill in magic was not up to standards. She was sent to a Nagarajan moonbase as her mother thought this was a way to move up in her carreer and improve the family's status. Inžreś saw it as a dead carreer path.

At this point in their lives, they met each other when the Transmogrifier on Inžreś' moonbase broke, and Micha and Kiara came to repair it. The routine job drastically went south when the machine overloaded, and the incident left them merged into one body and the machine irreparably damaged. At first, they wanted to be split up as soon as possible, but the doctor found that despite their mangled appearance, they were perfectly healthy, and even fertile.

While they was making modifications to the machine that would help her split apart, they found herself strangely at peace with their new being, being a lot better at their job than they ever were individually. An encounter with the young and deaf snow leopard Nurlan even set them up for a date, and being addressed as a woman, she was comfortable to identify herself as one. The date meant a lot to her, as the memories from Micha's life told her of the regrets he had not finding love in his life and that this was his second chance to make it all right. The two found a click between them on that date, and it was all looking to work out well. That was until Inžreś' mother appeared to take control of her life again once and for all, but the ship's security put an end to her abusive scheme. The doubts to continue the splitting process grew stronger, as she didn't want to return to Micha's life of loneliness or Inžreś' life under an abusive parent. But would the third life, the one with Kiara's loving family, accept her as she is now? She contacted Kiara's family, and in an emotional call they reassured her that all of her is still family, even Micha and Inžreś. It pulled her over the line to remain one merged being.

She underwent body-affirming surgery, restoring her right boob and covering her scaly tail with feathers. She practiced some illusion magic to hide her third eye until she can accept it as part of the mental image she has of herself. With over a hundred years of combined life experiences, she has become one of the most experienced crew members on board, but with the youthfulness of a twenty-year old. Her character is a mix of the three people that came before her: driven and wise like Micha once was, playful and happy as Kiara once was, and methodical and adaptable as Inžreś once was. She continued on her loving relationship with Nurlan, helping him with improving his "hearing" aids. And in her new role, with a loving family, and a crew that respects her, she's happier than ever.

I still needed a good drawing of Kim after the events of "the Chimaera", now that she received her body-affirming surgery, and an illusion hiding her third eye. She's doing much better now!
