Been way too long since I drew my most popular characters. And in full color, too, complete with special effects (rubber gloss).
The otter's feeling about on-ride photos is drawn from real life; every ride picture has me showing basically the same look, this wild-eyed, mouth-open expression of someone who's having fun for the first time in his life and likes it. Also, I (in real life) have quite long hair that'll go flying around in every direction once we're up to speed so there's often funny expressions on the obscured face of whoever's unlucky enough to be behind me.
Wild Chipmunk is a roller coaster at the gorgeous and charming Lakeside Park in Denver, Colorado. Well worth a visit. The coaster in the background isn't anything particular, but was basically freehanded with a simulated paintbrush, as opposed to the ink used for the characters, which I like in theory as a way of doing something that looks unfocused and remote.
The otter's t-shirt is a callback to https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49508529/ ... I suppose this must be an amusement park with a water park, like all of the successful ones have.
I'm getting close to figuring out what the hydra's name is, but the otter's is still a mystery to me.

I'm not sure what the hydra thinks about their lack of head. Being mostly okay with it, sure, although I'd have to imagine there's some regret, if only for the times someone else is going to be all weird about it. I still don't have the full story on how they lost their head. Need to interrogate that more, probably.
Yeah, that's right. First picture did have the hydra explaining why they had the gene glitch that kept a new head from growing. And that it runs in their family, just hasn't come up before because no one else lost a head
No explanation of what happened, though. I also have the feeling it was an accident. It seems to have been something they were aware of happening at the time, so probably not an early-childhood event.
