If I were to do the same it wouldn't look as good. Even if I used the few camera tricks I learned in film class. I'm sure even just across a table they look nice. 'Specially if you wore something near your face like an awesome blue or green. That would make 'em pop. The light blonde hair sometimes even helps with that.
