The Melam, or Primordials in their ancient tongue, are the closest things to gods in the multiverse. They have been shaped by the psychic imprint of countless races over countless eons, and as such have become the embodiment of their collective will. It is through the Melam that universes are born, and it is by the Melam that universes die before they can experience heat death. While the Melam don't have a physical form in the traditional sense, they can manifest themselves into forms of their choosing when needed. These forms vary in shape, height, and weight, and thus such values cannot be quantified. Wielding enough power to destroy and remake reality several times over, they instead work to preserve the balance of creation and destruction.

Legends aren't exactly clear when it comes to the origin of Inata, the seventh Melam. Some records state that Inata is the child of Ankanu and Ursag who was born after the other Melam, while there are other accounts that say that Inata was simply the last of the Melam to be birthed from Sha'mas. Much like her own conflicting origin story, Inata is the Melam who presides over both love and war. She who brings lovers together is also the one who tears them apart, leaving both serenity and mayhem in her wake. Perhaps it is due to her volatile nature, flipping a switch at a moments notice. Maybe it is because she is bored, unsatisfied with the harmony or discord that she creates. Whatever the reason, she is definitely a Goddess to be feared, as it is by her will that mortals choose to live together... or die together.
