So I'll freely admit part of this was a response to how long the last one was so I went and drew something that I knew I could do somewhat quickly. And this concept just amused me, of trying to draw the main two of my Werepix comic in the manner that would be how they'd look if I kept the proportions consistent with the games and anime. And for the record I was recreating Page 6 of Werepix- Attrition Page 06. I was debating briefly on whether or not to make the vulpix the standard shiny colors but decided to just keep the colors the same. Contrasting that with my style, the main thing is that my vulpixes are much leggier with much longer tails. And my meowstics are almost entirely different. My Meowstics have a much smaller and feline head, are digitigrade rather than plantigrade with a much more unfolded tail.
That said it was still somewhat entertaining to try and actually draw in the pokemon style. That said, I don't think I would do this for long. I do like how large the eyes are making it much easier to show expression. I also rather like how the lighting effect turned out. Did it by putting a dark filter on everything not the sky, then erased it along the tops of the two figures. Also removed it from the eyes and then put like half of the opacity back in and copied the white part above the filter, so that eyes are darker, but still brighter than everything else. I think the lighting does work really well for being night. That said, I don't think I'll be doing it moving forward on Werepix. It's not that it took too long to do, but that when you're trying to draw a comic that almost exclusively takes place during the night, it'll be way too distracting to have this effect and harder to push the focus somewhere else. What are y'all's thoughts on my thoughts on this. Do you think I should start having this effect all the time in future werepix pages? Anyway, total drawing time of 3.8 hours.
