first off i apologize for the weird grain to this image but you can thank all the assholes illegally reposting and scraping my art (: i shouldn't have been posting such high-res clean images before, but i THOUGHT people would give my work the bare minimum respect at least. since that has proven untrue, i can no longer afford to provide pristine images for free viewing. it's this or all art goes behind a stiff paywall/is only shared to my close friends that i trust. :/

anyway! this is my husband  tayohshadowind's favorite digimon, and it's his birthday this thursday! so happy birf husbirb!

i love drawing semi-realistic digimon like this! i feel most people who draw digimon often either just copy the native style exactly or they just draw a real animal and then recolor it, so it doesn't feel like a digimon at all anymore. gomamon here is based on seals and walruses so all i did was add seal traits wherever his anatomy seemed to be a weird style choice rather than how he would actually work. (drawing animals that have noses, particularly cats, without them, is weirdly common in japan for example, so animal-based digimon that look like they SHOULD have a nose, get one in my style)
