there is some vague power = size relationship, and the vast majority of humans turned spellfluxed get set within the baseline which excludes human form. Gotta gather some power through societal importance or self development to the point you climb to being able to be taller than 4ft. Effectively the entry level doesn't really let you stay human scale so you can't stay one.
