You want to talk about minor miracles; my dad's old place caught on fire a couple of months back and I had a lot of my stuff stored there that is nothing but ashes now. I feared that I had lost a chunk of my fur art collection in that. Three days ago I was picking over the place and found a heavy duty plastic storage bin several feet outside the front of what's left of the house (seems the fire guys pulled it out through a window to get it out of their way). I recognized it as mine. The top was still fastened down on it and there were no holes which was good considering that it had snowed and rained a number of times since the fire. I'm hoping luck holds and that I'll find another part of my collection in okay shape as well.


This is a scene from a story titled "Best Luck" I was messing with many years ago. It's set some 50-60 years in the future where some labs are "making" What are called Modified Genetics (MGs) for those who can afford them (Yes, they are, at this time, quite pricey) Here Selene, the rabbit fem, is meeting her Owner for the first time (the company has delivered her to his home at his request). She is, happily, pregnant with three kits (it is quite rare for an Owner to allow their female MG have any young and when Selene was offered the chance she fairly "jumped" at it!). Her Owner's name is Greggory ("Greg") Thompsan, a self made man of great wealth.

Art was done for me by Todd Sutherland of Canada back in the late 1990s. He dropped out of sight sometime around the middle of this last decade. For me, he is sorely missed.
