Finished commission for
amaterasu1
Ehhh.. i'm glad i finished this but am not completely satisfied with the result. This has only been the second full background i've attempted in a loooooong time... i definately have alot of things to iron out...
definately looks better from far away :{ imo, anyway.
i need more practice 9.9
I hope he likes it tho!

I think it came out pretty nice! Even if it's not perfect, it still looks lovely.
If you want my two cents, i think the biggest thing that could make this better (for future backgrounds anyway, since this is done) would be to make more of a separation between the foreground and background. Or at least more space - because it transitions from the rocks and grass directly to the (distant) field and fences without much of a division, it screws with the mind's concept of size, depth, and distance. Almost makes the gryphon look like a macro, but then that'd mean the tree, grass, and rocks in the forground are huge too. :P
Just something to work on in the future maybe! I think there just needs to be something more substantial along that bottom line that divides the fore from background.
It's still pretty though <3 I'm sure the commissioner will love it!

That looks amazing. Kind of reminds me of the farm I grew up on back home. The only problem is that those cows are totally going to get into that corn. If there's one thing I've learned about cattle it's that you can't put something they want ten feet away from them and expect nothing bad to happen.
I think you did a great job up to quite a distance. :>
I think I can see what you're dissatisfied with-- like the distant-most bits of hillside. I'm glad you did this, thogh-- putting yourself out there and pushing your limits are how you improve, right?
Keep up the good work. :>

Damn that was fast!! I remember you telling me about this piece just last week. And I think it looks fantastic (like everything you do wtf). And don't be too hard on yourself about the background. I think it's perfect. I mean, realistically, things in the background shouldn't be as detailed as things in the foreground, which you've done excellently here. So in my opinion I think you made it much more realistic than if you just went ahead and made everything crazy detailed and perfect. It's much more believable this way. :3 Awesome work as per usualllllll. <3
You're welcome, homooo! And I love the title, by the way. :3 lol.
I'll bet if we cooked up that griffin and had him for din-din there would be enough for everyone in town to come over, make themselves at home and fix themselves a NICE plate o' BURD. Cuz there'd be PLENNYO'BURD. <3

We gotta make plans to hang out again soon. Are you going to be free this weekend maybe? Let me knoooow! :3
And I have to actually draw next time because last time you came over pretty much all I did was just eat pizza and pass the fuck out. Haha. I'm so lame. :P
